March 2000
Lapp Cable - the leading multinational manufacturer of cables, glands and accessories for power, control, signal, instrumentation, data and BUS applications - will be promoting a wide range of its products in 2000. These will include ÖLFLEX® CLASSIC PVC control cables and highly flexible ÖLFLEX-FD® cables for robotics, drag-chain and servo-motor applications, plus SKINTOP® glands and EPIC® industrial connectors.Lapp on show in 2000
The show is being used to launch Lapp's latest addition to its ÖLFLEX® CLASSIC range - ÖLFLEX® CLASSIC 115 CY. This "unbedded" version of its long-established copper-braided CY control cable, is thinner and lighter than the more traditional 110 CY cable which has an inner PVC sheath beneath the tinned copper braid. The new space-saving cable is ideal for screened control and power applications in both dry and damp indoor environments. It is particularly appropriate for use where EMC protection against electromagnetic interference is required.
OLFLEX-FD® cables, also on show, are designed for continuously flexing applications in industrial automation & robotics where the stresses would cause early conductor fatigue and failure in conventional control cables. FD cables are typically used in Drag Chains (Power Chains), an application which will be demonstrated using a dynamic simulation rig on Lapp's stand.
Qualified technical personnel will be present to discuss cable and Drag Chain solutions.
Since last year Lapp has been able to supply its EPIC® series of cable connectors (manufactured by its sister company, Contact Connectors) directly from its Dublin facility in Park West. The addition of the EPIC® range expands the selection of cables, glands and accessories available to Lapp's growing customer base in Ireland.
The EPIC® range includes: EPIC® H-D, an economical and reliable high density connector; EPIC® H-BE for higher current carrying purposes; and the top-of-the-range EPIC® H-BS, rated to 35A. A wide selection of tools and accessories is available to assist with the preparation and termination of these connectors.
The EPIC® range of industrial connectors can be specified for a wide spectrum of applications, from machine tools to the entertainment industry. Typically, end-users include machine builders, plant engineers and maintenance electricians in various markets from automotive and manufacturing to communications and transportation.
A new applications guide from Lapp - "Control cables for all environments " - is also now available to assist in cable selection. This guide has been designed to steer a specifier through the cable selection process by clearly listing suitable cables under headings corresponding to all principal applications/environmental categories.
The Lapp Group is a leading global manufacturer of control cables and accessories. In addition to ÖLFLEX® control cables its brands include UNITRONIC® (Data and Bus cables), SKINTOP® (Cable Glands), EPIC® (Cable Connectors), FLEXIMARK® (Cable Marking Systems) and HITRONIC® (Fibre Optic Cables).
